Just a little background
on me. I've always been interested in making things, but
stumbled upon turning pens while looking through some books
and decided to give it a spin (no pun intended). So I got
myself a mini-lathe, some tools (sure didn't know what
to do with those things), some wood (spent a fortune on
e-bay), ordered some pen kits. Now I was
set to turn my first pen. Man, you should have seen that
thing, it was huge. The Jolly Green Giant couldn't have
written with that thing. But as time passed and more and
more pens were made, I settled down and made some right
decent pens, if I say so myself. I am constantly wanting
to do something different. So I decided to make a deer
antler pen. Well, that was quite an experience, but really
liked the way it turned out. Then I decided to make my "Texas
Pen", which is half Texas mesquite and half Texas white
tail deer antler. I also do hair-on-hide items, crosses,
barnwood votive candle
holders, etc. to keep me busy.

Now that Freddie has taken up most of the space,
guess it's my turn. Well, my name is Jim and I do woodburning
(pyography) as a hobby. I began working in leather years
back, but always wanted to work with wood, my Dad was
a carpenter. I began dabbling in wood, making corner
shelves, cowboy hat racks, etc. with mostly cartoon or
western designs for friends. But now I have expanded
to other ideas. If you have a special design
or picture you would like burned onto one of my products,
please send it on, I'll give it a try.
